I wish I would be able do more details. Anyone know how?
Things I would like to improve:
- clean lines and sticking to them when coloring.
- smooth shading - if I try, it looks like Gaussian blur.
- details - at some point, they start to look too sharp and out of place.

Gorgeous use of colors!! 
Love the patchy look to it. I'm not a big expert on smoothing either but the color effect here is great!!! I think one of the better techniques for transitioning is to use a hard brush on 30ish% opacity and continually picking transitional colors until its pretty blended. Sometimes only very few edges should even be sharp at all, in my opinion. Again, love this study!!!!
